Osaka Japan 10/31/24

We docked in Kobe and went to Osaka by train. Originally known as Naniwa, Osaka served as a significant port and trade center during the 7th century. The city gained prominence in the Edo period (1603-1868) as a commercial hub, known as the "Nation's Kitchen" for its thriving food trade. In the late 19th century, Osaka underwent modernization and became a key industrial center, further developing into the vibrant metropolis it is today. The city is known for its unique culture, cuisine, and historical landmarks, including Osaka Castle and the Dotonbori district.
