Malbork Castle

The elaborately decorated wall-walk immediately above these major apartments is carried on four-centred arches spanning the machicolated recesses between the brick buttresses and protected by the eaves of the steeply pitched roof. The walk expands into six-sided turrets at the corners, brace-supported in stone, while the same material is used for the blind trefoil and quatrefoil paneled battlements to create a highly decorative head to the Palace wing
