Mr. Moriyasu Akatsuka has been in the orchid business for decades, bringing with him many years of orchid experience. Established in 1974, Akatsuka Orchid Gardens is a growing, thriving orchid business. Prior to his establishment here in Hawaii, Mr. Akatsuka worked in a family orchid nursery in Japan. Recently, Mr. Akatsuka constructed new greenhouses for the garden, and expanded his retail store. There are over 1,000 blooming orchids on display, including his “mother plants” and their hybrid offspring.
