In the same year as our 30th Wedding Anniversary it so happened that our vacation club "required" us to travel. This time we took the opportunity to visit two of the Hawaiian Islands over the span of a couple weeks. We chose the October/November time-frame to get cheaper flights and avoid the hords of tourists. Not being water sports people, we explored the geography and culture of the islands of of Hawai'i and Kaua'i. We learned a little of the language although even the the natives didn't speak it much - at least to us. Many of course were transplants from "somewhere else." Everyone was friendly and helpful, particularly the folks on Kaua'i who in many cases went above and beyond.
