The "Eternal City" is more than we imagined. The pictures, the history lessons, nothing prepares you for coming face to face with a city thousands of years old. At every turn you are faced with an almost seamless integration of history and culture in both time and space.

An opportunity to visit Rome comes along possibly once in a lifetime. So in honor of our 25th anniversary next year,  we went off on our own (the kids may never forgive us) and spent an entire week exploring the ancient city of Rome on foot. Below are 100's of photos that are only an echo of a city where "every stone has history."

LimoService * It happened that Ken's high school reunion was this year and he connected with Susan, who just so happened to live in Rome. She was great and helped us tremendously in the planning for this trip. One of her great suggestions was Maurizio. Instead of floundering around catching a bus or train (or worse a taxi) into the city Maurizio supplied door to door service with a smile an more good information. Dependable and friendly, like a friend we just met. * 443 x 280 * (58KB)
