Monument to Giuseppe Mazzini
The monument to Giuseppe Mazzini (1805-72), one of the leading activists for the unification of Italy, was unveiled on June 2nd 1949, the centenary year of the start of the short-lived Roman Republic (February 9th 1849-July 2nd 1850). Located un Piazzale Ugo La Malfa, on the slopes of the Aventine Hill (opposite the Circus Maximus) in Rome, Italy. It has a height of approximately 13 meters (43 feet) total; the seated bronze figure of Mazzini is about 4 to 5 meters tall. It is a bronze statue atop a massive white marble pedestal decorated with high and low-relief sculptures
