It was built between 1,704 - 1 755 on the spot where formerly stood a Gothic church from the 13th century also dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra . Until 17th century was also near the Romanesque rotunda of St. Wenceslas .In the past, the tower of the church held a service watcher, who were asked to report any fires or approaching enemies
