Our Adventures in Ireland
Having never been to Ireland (save for an ill-fated return flight from Spain spent on the tarmac in Shannon), we had planned a more laid back vacation than our usual "forced march". This time. with our rented manual transmission Ford, we spent a lot of time covering the country side by car. Each day we bravely set off (ignoring the of the previous days episodes of abject driving terror) exploring many back roads of southeast Ireland using at least 3 maps, a keen eye, imagination in locating road signs and deciphering them. (We found the road signage in Ireland much like experience... you might get them just after you need them.)
Most memorable was meeting the Irish people, which no matter where we were, were always friendly and went out of thier way to be helpful.
The images on this page locates our travels in Ireland. The last picture shows our path from Dublin to Knocktopher . (After landing at 5:30 am in Dublin we we stretched a three hour trip into six as we wound our down the backroads , simultaniously learning to drive a stick with my left hand on the left side of the road. )
Below the images are subfolders containing images related to the various major locations we visited. NOTE: The grouping of photos has overview information and the photos may have more detailed captions. I also added links to even more info, if you are so inclined.
Hope you enjoy and sign the guest book below.
