Hotel Astoria is a design hotel located next to the Central Station in Copenhagen, Denmark. The building is an early example of Functionalist architecture in Denmark. An example of architecture parlante, the building is intended to resemble a steam locomotive,[5] with its connotations of travel and movement encapsulating the essence of the site, and as an expression of the fascination with progress and technology which was typical of the time.

The Ny Carlsberg Brewhouse, completed in 1901, is built in the Historicist style which also characterizes the rest of the Carlsberg area. The main source of inspiration comes from Italian Renaissance architecture. The building's facade with its balcony is inspired by Palazzo Bavilaque in Verona.

On the roof stands Carl Johan Bonnesen's large group sculpture "Thor's battle against the Jötunns". The group of figures was originally a competition proposal for a monument at Langelinie which was won by Anders Bundgaard's Gefion Fountain. Carl Jacobsen subsequently asked Bonnesen to produce a copy for his new brewhouse.

The Elephant Gate & Tower (Danish: Elefantporten & -tårnet) is designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup and was built in 1901. The tower is the Carlsberg district's most famous landmark and takes its name from four granite elephants which flank the gate and carries the tower on their backs. It is inspired by Bernini's Elephant and Obelisk on Piazza della Minerva in Rome.[10]

The founder of New Carlsberg Carl Jacobsen registered a swastika as his trademark in 1881. He might have used it even before 1881 but the Danish Register of Trademark started first this year. The Swastika is an ancient symbol of prosperity and goodness in Sanskrit. In the end of 1945 the use of swastika was stopped, the World had forgotten is original was a positive symbol

The Dipylon or Double Gate (Danish: Diptylon or Dobbeltporten) was designed by Vilhelm Dahlerup and was built in 1892. Dipylon being Greek for 'double gate', the Dipylon Gate is a double-arched Gateway marking the Vesterbro-side entrance to Ny Carlsberg. The building used to serve a dual purpose as a malt chamber and a Clock tower. The clock is still functioning and has artwork by Stephan Sinding.

Carl Jacobsen wanted to show that a chimney for an industrial plant could be beautiful in its own right, so he brought in architect Vilhelm Dahlerup and master builder PS Beckmann. Their 56m tall winding chimney features motifs of Egyptian lotus flowers while, on the plinth, replicas of the Chimeras (Gargoyles) from Notre Dame in Paris look out over the city of Copenhagen.
